i just installed the DoFollow plugin for WordPress. WordPress, by default will add NoFollow to all comment links. this handy plugin will remove it and allow search engines to follow comment links in blogs.
yay for me. yay for you.
i was inspired to add this to my blog by internet marketing guru, Mark Barrera. Mark discusses the over use of the NoFollow tag and the growing DoFollow community on his blog.
i realize my tiny little blog doesn’t have a huge readership (yet!) and my link juice probably won’t do much (yet!), but the NoFollow tag just seems ridiculous to me.
Mark’s opinion on NoFollow:
I see no reason why people should nofollow the links to people who comment on their blog since these are the people who matter most. It only makes sense to share a little link juice with the people who actually take the time to comment on your site.
what a novel concept, i couldn’t agree more.
(and now the word “follow” looks funny to me.)

I am a believer in “you are what you link to”, so I am using my link Url to point to my Nofollow label at my blog. That should help you as well — since it is related to your topic.
Take the next step and read Andy Beard’s linking strategies for blog comments and posts. Help spread the word and maybe the smaller blogs can beat out the bigger ones with comment link juice.

This is very helpful for learning how to share the Link Love. I originally heard about this movement a couple of months ago too. It seems odd to me that the blogs were set up as nofollow’s. I hope this change increases your traffic, your comments and your links.

I agree that the nofollow tag is very “big” brother, I never post on nofollow sites.
